[ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE RESULTS OF THE PHOTO CONTEST AND EXHIBITION] THE JOURNEY OF THE SETY NETWORK: 2022–2026
After an inspiring contest period that featured many meaningful entries and received enthusiastic support from the community, the Organizing Committee is pleased to announce and congratulate the authors and winning submissions of this year's Photo Contest:
01 First Prize
[No. 04] Nguyễn Tường Trâm Anh – “Embrace the Earth, Touch the Future”
DescriptionThe artwork portrays a gentle young woman embracing the Earth, conveying the message that protecting our planet begins with each individual's love, care, and sense of responsibility. Shades of blue representing the oceans, along with lush mountains, forests, green foliage, a whale, and a vibrant red flower, evoke a thriving natural world where people and nature coexist in harmony.
A distinctive feature of this artwork is that it is created using discarded paper, which was torn into small pieces and blended with paint. This recycled material reflects the spirit of Net Zero in a simple yet meaningful way—reducing waste, reusing resources, and transforming what might otherwise be considered useless into something of new value. The artwork reminds us that every small action we take today can contribute to healing the Earth and building a greener, more sustainable future.
Message: Net Zero begins with our love for the Earth and with the small yet consistent choices each of us makes every day. When we embrace nature with respect and care, we give our planet the opportunity to heal, regenerate, and thrive—creating a greener and more sustainable future for generations to come.

01 Second Prize
[No 01] Ngô Mai Linh - "Youth Today – Green Actions for a Sustainable Future"
Description: In today's world, humanity is facing a wide range of environmental challenges, including climate change, biodiversity loss, and environmental pollution. According to the 2023 Synthesis Report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the global surface temperature has already risen by approximately 1.1°C above pre-industrial levels. The report further highlights that global warming is increasing the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events such as heatwaves, droughts, heavy rainfall, floods, storms, and sea-level rise, posing significant threats to ecosystems and human well-being.
In addition, the World Weather Attribution (WWA) initiative has warned that the return of El Niño could make 2026 one of the most extreme weather years in modern history. Intensifying heatwaves, wildfires, prolonged droughts, and unprecedented floods occurring across many parts of the world underscore that climate change is no longer a distant threat—it is a present-day reality that demands immediate and collective action.
Vietnam is also among the countries most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. This reality highlights the urgent need to raise public awareness and inspire collective action, particularly among young people—the generation that will play a pivotal role in shaping a more sustainable future.
Youth Today – Green Actions for a Sustainable Future is centered on the idea of young people as the driving force for change. At the heart of the artwork is the Earth, symbolizing our shared home, surrounded by young people standing together in solidarity, connected by a common commitment to building a greener future. The collage-style composition blends real-life photographs, illustrations, and visual symbols, creating a piece that is both relatable and inspiring while conveying a powerful message of collective action for sustainability.
The artwork highlights several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to environmental sustainability through carefully selected images and visual symbols. These include SDG 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation; SDG 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy, represented by wind turbines and solar panels; SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production, illustrated through waste sorting and recycling practices; SDG 13 – Climate Action; SDG 14 – Life Below Water; and SDG 15 – Life on Land, emphasizing the protection of terrestrial ecosystems and biodiversity. Images of tree planting, litter collection, resource conservation, and community engagement reinforce the message that sustainable development is not an abstract concept, but one that begins with simple, everyday actions taken by each individual.
The poster also serves as a heartfelt expression of gratitude to the Rosa Luxemburg Stifung Southeast Asia (Hanoi Office) and IPIIS, whose support has made SETY Camp possible. More than just a summer program, SETY Camp provides a platform where young people can learn, connect, develop their skills, and transform positive ideas into meaningful action. Through their continued support, these organizations not only help raise young people's awareness of socio-ecological challenges but also inspire them to take an active role in building a greener, more inclusive, and sustainable future.
Through this poster, I hope to convey a simple yet powerful message: every small action we take today has the potential to create meaningful change for tomorrow. Recycling a plastic bottle, planting a tree, reducing plastic waste, or inspiring others to care for the environment may seem like small steps, but together they form the path toward sustainable development. Let us take action together, embrace greener and more responsible lifestyles, and become young leaders committed to building a healthier planet and a more sustainable future for all.

01 Third Prize
[No 08] Trần Nhật Quang – "Passing the Torch to the Future"
DescriptionThis photograph presents a striking close-up perspective that captures the intersection between enduring traditional values and the aspiration for a greener future. The classical architecture of the Agribank building in the foreground symbolizes the stable foundations upon which society is built, while the modern glass façade of the Bitexco Financial Tower stands as a powerful emblem of technological progress and innovative thinking. Framed together, these two iconic structures convey a profound message about socio-ecological transformation: a sustainable Net Zero future can only be achieved by valuing our heritage, using it as a solid foundation to drive green innovation and empower future generations.

Idea Prize
[No 06] Vũ Thị Thảo Nguyên - "Green Bay, Green Future"
Description: This photograph captures the tranquil beauty of Ha Long Bay, Quang Ninh, where emerald waters and majestic limestone islands reflect the timeless splendor of Vietnam's natural heritage. Yet, in the face of increasingly severe climate change, this remarkable landscape is under growing threat. More than celebrating its scenic beauty, the artwork encourages reflection on the importance of promoting sustainable tourism that protects the environment and minimizes impacts on fragile ecosystems. In line with the spirit of SETY 2026 and its vision of socio-ecological transformation, the photograph reminds us that preserving nature today is the foundation for building a greener and more sustainable future tomorrow.
