In this interview, she shares her journey participating in SETY CAMP 2025, memorable experiences with the club, and her plans to make a green lifestyle a daily habit for the student community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My name is Hoang Thanh Ngan, and I am currently a fourth-year student at the Faculty of Management Science, University of Social Sciences and Humanities \u2013 VNU. In addition to my studies, I serve as the President of the Green Humanities Club, a student organization focused on environmental activities, promoting a green lifestyle, and spreading sustainable values within the student community and society.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

From my personal experiences, I have realized that the environment around us is facing significant negative impacts from climate change, pollution, and waste. These issues are no longer distant problems\u2014they are directly linked to our health, quality of life, and the future of the younger generation. This awareness has driven me to start with small actions, gradually contributing to positive change within the community.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n
I learned about SETY CAMP through a friend\u2019s recommendation. After looking into it further, I realized that the goals and themes of SETY CAMP 2025 closely align with the issues I have always cared about and wanted to learn more about. This became the motivation for me to apply and participate as a volunteer at SETY CAMP 2025.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n
The recycling activity at the camp left a strong impression on me. Through this activity, I learned how to make use of different materials and discovered simple, practical ways to recycle household waste. It also made me rethink the life cycle of a product, which has since changed my consumption habits and encouraged me to consider the sustainability of every item I use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the most memorable experiences for me was the project communication workshop led by Ms. Dieu An. The session not only provided practical insights into how to build and spread effective messages, but also helped me better understand the crucial role of communication in connecting people and creating a positive impact on the community.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

<\/strong>One of the post-camp activities I organized with Green Humanities was a mini-game called \u201cWhat Does Living Green Mean?\u201d. We prepared a set of questions revolving around the keyword \u201cgreen lifestyle\u201d, where participants could answer and receive small, lovely gifts from the club. The activity was both fun and engaging, while also helping students approach the concept of a green lifestyle in a more familiar, simple, and memorable way. This was one of the activities where I directly applied the knowledge and skills I gained from the summer camp to the practical work of the Green Humanities Club.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/strong>One of the most memorable experiences with Green Humanities was the \u201cGreen Sunday\u201d activity, which took place right after a big storm. That day, the school campus was covered with fallen leaves and broken branches. At first, the scene looked quite messy, but after just a few hours of working together to clean up, the space became much tidier and fresher. The feeling of seeing the results of our collective effort\u2014both useful and meaningful\u2014made us all feel very happy and proud.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n
Serving as President has given me the opportunity to develop leadership skills, manage human resources, organize events, and especially strengthen my ability to connect with the community. However, there are also many challenges, the biggest of which is ensuring that the club\u2019s activities go beyond short-term movements and truly create long-lasting influence on raising community awareness about environmental protection and sustainable development.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
I feel that I have become much more mature and positive. In the past, I often thought that the impact of one individual was very small. However, through working with the club and its projects, I realized that with perseverance and the right way of spreading awareness, even a small action can spark big change. More importantly, I see that I have been able to bring tangible value to the community and the environment, which makes me feel fulfilled and more confident in the path I am pursuing.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
I would like to tell young people that a green lifestyle can begin with very small actions in daily life. Carrying a personal water bottle, reducing the use of plastic bags, or joining an environmental activity in your local area all have practical meaning. Don\u2019t wait for something too big to happen, because it is the persistence in small habits that creates lasting strength and contributes to long-term change for the community.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am nurturing a project called \u201cGreen Student Ambassadors,\u201d with the participation of young people themselves. Each student would become a \u201cgreen ambassador\u201d by adopting eco-friendly habits in their daily lives. This journey of change would be documented through photos or videos and then shared to inspire friends, peers, and the wider community. I believe that when one young person becomes a green role model, the impact will go far beyond themselves and be multiplied many times through their surrounding network.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
