Summer Camp on youth and social-ecological transformation (SETY CAMP) has passed the second season filled with many emotions. It was a summer full of interesting experiences in scientific research associated with the theme “Your dreams about the marine environment in the context of social-ecological transformation” \u2013 a topic that attracts the attention of a large number of young people today. The summer camp is part of the cooperation project between the Institute of Policy and Management and the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation in Southeast Asia. It was held from August 26 to August 31 in Ha Long, a beautiful coastal city. On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I would like to express my deep thanks to the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation in Southeast Asia for sponsoring the SETY CAMP idea from the Institute of Policy and Management (IPAM). We hope that this is an annual activity that will continue to be implemented in the coming period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the 2022 SETY season, students had many surprises to learn about the first summer camp for science-loving women. With SETY 2023, the Organizing Committee was very pleased to welcome nearly 30 members including old and new SETY-ers who have successfully passed the preliminary challenge to become official students this year. From more than 80 applications sent to the summer camp, the Organizing Committee highly appreciated the youthfulness, dynamism, and initiative of young people with their research issues, expressing very creatively their views on marine environmental protection and sustainable development goals associated with the marine environment of Vietnam. We hope the SETY community will grow stronger and SETY CAMP will become a hub for young people who are passionate about environmental research and community development to join hand and work toward a sustainable development in Vietnam. During the summer camp, students have experienced learning activities, teambuilding, teamwork, designing summer camp message products, etc. From awareness of marine environmental protection and marine ecosystems, SETY-ers have been looking for ideas and practical solutions to propose innovative and enthusiastic research projects. The trainees’ dream of a marine ecosystem free of plastic waste, sustainable livelihoods of coastal people, eco-bricks built from recycled waste as an alternative to construction materials, and concern about the impacts of wind power on the lives of coastal people,… These thoughts were shared in the last days of the summer camp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lastly, the Project Coordinating Committee would like to extend good wishes to all the SETY community and the foundation builders for the project\u2026..<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SETY 2023 would like to send students the ropes of connecting dreams so that they can always be confident, strong, and accompanied on their journey of perception. Let\u2019s look forward to a young community with ecological-social transformation that will realize their dreams in the not-too-distant future!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SETY 2023 also sends thanks to the teachers, experts, and inspirational figures of the project who dedicated their words, enthusiastic lectures, and wrote an emotional second season of SETY with us!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SETY 2023 also gives deep gratitude to friends and colleagues in IPAM team for sharing and accompanying a small project filled with enthusiasm, making the smallest things more meaningful and special than ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SETY 2023 gives a final wish to a special character: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong, Director of the Institute of Policy and Management, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Head of the Executive Board of the Club of Scientists, Vietnam National University \u2013 who has quietly supported and encouraged all of us to implement meaningful projects for young people to spread the passion for scientific research more and more strongly.
