When filling out the application for SETY 2022, I only wished for a meaningful summer. As I researched about the summer camp, I thought it would only be a scientific camp where I could learn social science knowledge. Not only that, I also joined because of curiosity about “how a summer camp exclusively for girls would be like?” After meeting the organizers and fellow participants on the first day, I was so excited about the summer camp that I decided to skip one class to be able to attend all 6 sessions of SETY – it was a daring decision but worth it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What at SETY CAMP impressed and surprised you the most?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The first thing that surprised me was the quality of the camp participants. After the first lesson, I was quite shocked by everyone’s profiles. Some are university lecturers, some are members of famous Non-Governmental Organizations, some had scientific research with national awards and articles published in international journals. At that moment, I called my mom and told her: “Everyone here seems to have super brains. Then I realized what a great place SETY must be to attract such people. The next impressive thing for me was the organization team of SETY CAMP. Even though it was the first season, they handled every stage of the organization with professionalism and precision. Every experiential activity was diverse and exciting. Moreover, I felt that SETY took great care of the participants. Despite having goat meat for all 6 days and watermelon for dessert, it seemed like everyone was gaining weight because the food was so delicious. I can only summarize that SETY CAMP is a perfect 100, no further discussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you were to choose 3 words to describe the first season of SETY, what would they be?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n For me, SETY CAMP can be summarized in three words: Different, Excellence, and Worthwhile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How have you learned and grown after participating in SETY CAMP 2022?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I was surprised with myself, because when I joined SETY I suddenly realized that “It turns out I also have special talents”. I used to feel self-conscious about my abilities and thought that I was uninteresting. SETY is not just a scientific summer camp, it is also a place to nurture and actualize my desire for helping, preserving nature, mountains, forests and the people in the Northwest region. With the support of SETY CAMP, I had the opportunity to deeply study and learn about the Mong ethnic group in Nam Nghiep village and their potential for developing sustainable cooperative tourism combined with agriculture and forestry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What “mysterious unknown” are you looking forward to at SETY CAMPS 2023?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Maybe the participants of SETY 2023 are the unknown factors?
