    Dear readers of Newsletter No.1 of SETY 2022,<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    First of all, the Organizing Committee would like to thank the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation in Southeast Asia, Representative Office in Hanoi, for sponsoring the implementation of Newsletter No. 1 within the framework of the SETY 2022 Project titled “No one is left behind<\/em><\/strong>.”. This is a media product that records the journey of SETY Summer Camp in 2022 from its first steps until it becomes a mark in the learning and development journey of more than 20 first-time participants. The idea of the summer camp project was formed from the implementation of the components of the Social-Ecological Transformation (SET) Project by the Institute of Policy and Management, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, which was implemented from the years 2018-2021, with the sponsorship of RLS SEA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    We recognize the need to increase the participation of female scientists in research activities, seminars on environmental topics, and social-ecological transformation. We hope that the project will help discover women aged 18-30 who are passionate about research and community development, and support them with knowledge, skills, and inspiration. Therefore, they will be better prepared to develop themselves in the future. In addition to providing topics on sustainable development, social-ecological transformation, research skills, and project proposals, the Organizing Committee also introduces perspectives that affirm the feminine characteristics and advantages of women in participating in social development and community activities to young female participants. The awareness and development of ideas among participants in the camp made us realize that the orientation of the project is completely appropriate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    During the summer camp’s Talkshow, attendees frankly shared their problems and those of people around them and then realized that confidence, hard work, and positive thinking would be keys to giving them more motivation to do what they are passionate about; which is, first and foremost, scientific research and the scientific research and development of community projects. This Newsletter will represent the images of the participants in the lessons, and topics exploited in an open-minded way so that the participants can search for definitions and form their own arguments on sustainable development, nature-based lifestyles, and ecological transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This can be referred to as a journal documenting the journey of SETY 2022, or it can be considered a handbook that we, the people on the Coordinating Board of Project, give to the participants as a gift. Hopefully, attendees of SETY will always foster what you’ve learned, experienced in the 2022 Summer Camp, and above all, you can find each other in the future \u2013 when you need people to accompany you in ideas, research, and the development of community projects. We will all gather as like-minded colleagues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    On behalf of the Coordinating Board, we would like to express our deepest thanks to Mr. Philip Degenhardt, Regional Director of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation in Southeast Asia, Representative Office in Hanoi, who has supported and helped us to complete a small Project with the Great Dream of developing a SETY community with major concerns about social-ecological transformation. There have been many projects on the environment, and community development for young people, but SETY is proud to be the first science summer camp for female participants on the topic of social-ecological transformation in Vietnam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Once again, we do expect good things to come to the project in the future, and to the long-term and sustainable cooperation between the Institute of Policy and Management, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi and Rosa Luxemburg Foundation in Southeast Asia, Representative Office in Hanoi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
