All of this has shown me the value of intellectual labor and knowledge. Scientific research also forges perseverance and tenacity. A contentious issue has recently emerged on social media: Generation Z (or Gen Z) lacks perseverance; they tend to easily get bored and give up. I do too, I was inclined to give up very easily. When I started doing scientific research, in fact, there were many moments when I thought of giving up, and there were many times when I thought, &#8220;Why should I do scientific research? It\u2019s so boring. I had better give up right now.\u201d But then, I think about the reason I started, the stories about the scientific research of the previous researchers who have shared, and how hard I have tried to reach this step, and then I decide to keep trying. Scientific research not only teaches me how to think logically and solve problems but also gives me great relationships \u2013 those are friends, brothers, sisters, and instructors who are always there for me, helping me go through difficult times. You see, maturity, perseverance, critical thinking, and supportive relationships are always required for anyone embarking on a career development journey, now and in the future. And it is a fact that when it comes to the interview for interns, my CV, which was without work experience but reflected my participation in the successful implementation of a scientific research project, was highly appreciated by employers. It means that scientific research has never been superfluous in student life.<\/p>\n<p>I have been doing scientific research since I was a freshman. Perhaps you will wonder why first-year students, who do not have much knowledge, can participate in research. At that time, I thought the same. To me, scientific research was something quite far away, so big, and so cool. That\u2019s why I was curious as to what it was, and my choice was to join the Research Community for Economics Students (RCES). Here, I met people who have a great passion for scientific research, they can research from year to year, and they are eager to share with anyone about it. I was significantly influenced and inspired by them. Then I started participating in research. RCES and the people here have greatly contributed to my starting point and scientific research path as well. It is also the place that gives me the most motivation, the motivation to overcome difficulties and discouragement and finally reach it.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the instructor is also another source of encouragement when I do research. My instructor is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thu Ha. So far, she has instructed and accompanied me for nearly 3 years. I honestly have to admit that \u201cIn my college years, having her as my research instructor is the thing I am most grateful for.\u201d She taught me not only knowledge but also the way to turn my passion into action. She was always by my side. These things inspired me to never give up. The accomplishments I&#8217;ve made in the last 2-3 years have helped motivate me to continue researching. Indeed, it\u2019s true that hard work pays off. Scientific research helps me become more prominent in university, gives me chances to go to many places for academic exchange, and improves my personal finances. Those are the reasons that have helped me overcome many difficulties in research, otherwise, I think I would have given up a long time ago.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong> Can you share some of your achievements and memories related to scientific research?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The first achievement I achieved when doing research was the &#8220;First Prize for Scientific Research of Students of the Institute of Business Administration&#8221; and the &#8220;Third Prize for Scientific Research of Students of the University of Economics \u2013 Vietnam National University, Hanoi.&#8221; This is the most memorable achievement, I suppose because I achieved it when I was a second-year student. As you may know, only a few second-year students could be involved in research since they might encounter many difficulties without knowledge of econometrics and specialization. What makes me proud whenever I remember that time is that I did scientific research alone, and the defense rounds were all done online from the Hoa Lac military zone. I had to apply for permission from teachers to participate in defense rounds 2-3 times, the Internet in the military zone was still quite weak, so it created a lot of difficulties when protecting. But in the end, I overcame and achieved a certain achievement. In addition, when defending the scientific topic at the school-level round was held offline, it took me 2 weeks to apply for the school and the military zone management board to return to the school to defend the topic. The most difficult thing was that the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic was still complicated at that time, so it was tough to travel. It was not until the protection round took place that I was allowed to return to Hanoi. Because the Hoa Lac military zone is quite far from my university, I arrived just in time. I still remember that I wore a blue military uniform and rushed into the hall in time, surprising everyone in it. However, luckily, I was allowed a few minutes to get change. The topic protection session went extremely well, and I returned to the military area that afternoon. It was my very first memorable achievement. Having surpassed 47 schools across the country, 224 economics research projects, and 722 participants, I became one of 19 research groups participating in the finale of the Eur\u00e9ka Science Prize, which took place at the end of November in Ho Chi Minh City.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong> Why did you participate in SETY summer camp and after SETY how did you find yourself changed?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>I joined SETY summer camp because I saw the program&#8217;s information on the school&#8217;s website by chance. I was really attracted by the scale and content of the program, I see very few camp programs nowadays that can finance the entire accommodation and travel fee for the participants within 6 days like SETY. In addition, the content of the program is related to sustainable development \u2013 \u200b\u200bthis is a field that I am quite interested in and have done relevant research, so I want to come to SETY to learn more and develop this research. The SETY summer camp also brought up an important issue that has received little attention: &#8220;Gender equality in scientific research&#8221; and &#8220;Difficulties and challenges that women face when doing scientific research.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>After 6 days of accompanying the SETY summer camp, I was more aware of the gender perspective in scientific research. Hence I had to say: &#8220;Oh, women encounter a lot of difficulties once they start doing scientific research.&#8221; I have started to pay more attention to the women around me and feel more clearly the difficulties they face. Furthermore, at SETY camp, I have met teachers who have a great passion for scientific research and who also have the heart to impart their vast knowledge. I still remember when Prof. Dr. Truong Quang Hoc conveyed a message from Mr. Nguyen Thac Can. Even though he is 95 years old, his passion for teaching is still burning. The teacher said, &#8220;Vietnam is under the double impact of melting ice; if you teach later, please pass my message to the students.&#8221; My feeling at that time was sort of indescribable. The message is so beautiful and meaningful.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong> I<\/strong><strong>n your opinion, how can we increase the participation of female students in scientific research, especially research on the environment, sustainable development<\/strong><strong>,<\/strong><strong> and <\/strong><strong>social-ecological<\/strong><strong> transformation?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>In my opinion, the SETY summer camp is a successful project in increasing the participation of female students and trainees in scientific research, especially research on the environment, sustainable development, and social-ecological transformation. I learned a lot from the women who overcame difficulties and prejudices to continue on the path of research. Moreover, SETY provided me with more knowledge about the environment and sustainable development, and social-ecological transformation. Concerning projects like SETY, I hope to receive more support to help the project develop on a national scale, and above all, the implementation of projects will be deployed more strongly to improve gender equality in scientific research in general and environmental research, sustainable development, and social-ecological transformation in particular.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li><strong> Do you <\/strong><strong>plan to do<\/strong><strong> research on <\/strong><strong>any<\/strong><strong> topic of SET in the near future? And why did you choose this topic?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Currently, I am planning to pursue a project, or rather, a scientific research topic, on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The reason is that the 3 pillars of CSR are the 3 pillars of sustainable development (economics, culture, and society).
